The latest events at Willow Court will be held in February. The 11-12th should be great days with tours “supervised walks” plays from the Derwent Players and tours of the Archaeology Sites. Don’t miss this one!
Students and Associate Professor Heather Burke from the Archaeology dig will tell visitors about their work while local historian and ex-employee, Tony Nicholson will instruct guides and lead the guided walks around the buildings. Both Carlton and Alonnah Wards will remain locked as per the Derwent Valley Council’s decision at the last meeting due to no risk assessment being done for these wards. Tony is a local published and respected historian who started working at the site in the 1970’s. Archaeology and history walks are only on the Sunday.
The Derwent Valley Players will present two of their plays and serve high tea to booked guests aĺl for $25 with the choice of two performance times on Saturday and two on Sunday.

Do you need to book to attend the History Walks of Willow Court Pecinct on Sunday 12th February .
no need to book for any tours, only bookings required for the plays and high tea.
How long do the tours go for and do they cover all of the buildings?
From memory there were some other buildings in the New Norfolk area as well, Millbrook perhaps, and was there something on the other side of the river? are these also available to visit do you know?
the tours will cover the inside of the Barracks the yards, the outside only of Alonnah and Carlton Wards. I am not sure of times for the Archeology tours. the time has not been finalised but there is 1.5 hours between tours. both are free. i have passed on your request for more tourist information to the local organiser who would be best to inform you and others about places to visit in the valley.
we were sorry to miss the history walks offered Feb 11-12th. Will you be doing these again this year?
We are sorry you missed this limited opportunity too. there are plans for more activities during heritage month in 2017, 18th April to 21st May. these are yet to be appoved by the owner of the site and are still in the planning stage. these will be arranged by the Friends of Willow Court and we might see some contrubution from the friends of Frascati House as well.
