Info: “Eddie” as he is known started at the Hospital in 1962 following his father’s footsteps into a career at the Hospital. Firstly starting as a “Warder” then moving on to become the Baker and a Cook. He worked in Ward B1 (Male Refractory) and later B2 (Oval Ward). Eddie talks about the straw mattresses and how they needed to be refilled. He later worked as the Baker for the Hospital and after the Bakery’s closure, worked as a Cook in the Kitchen still cooking Bakery products.
